Exclusively designed for international students, the higher education diploma for technical music professions is a collaboration of University of Maine and the European technological institute for musical professions. It runs on a full-time basis from September to May, including technical training, professional culture classes, practical work experience with a company and career guidance and support.
After a French language preparation course (if necessary), the international student follows the same theoretical and practical courses than the rest of the students of the chosen speciality.
French language preparation course (non-French-speaking students)
The French language preparation course is given by University of Maine. This course aims to enable the students to follow the technical courses in French. A certificate will be given to every participant at the end of the course.
Workshop and applied technology. Training takes place in the technical workshops and is also composed of applied technology courses given in class. The wind instrument technical teaching enables the students to acquire the following skills : Disassembly • Reassembly • Cleaning • Maintenance and reparation • Fine tuning and adjustments of mechanical systems • Brazing • Diagnostic • Construction of specific tools
